After passing the John Logie Baird statue on the front at Helensburgh, I put together a query on inventors.
But, whether seen on a map, a table or a graph, I am not sure this tells anything. What is an "inventor": someone with an idea or what Defoe would have called a Projector? These query results could hardly be more gender-imbalanced; have innovations introduced by women been absorbed as general improvements rather than given the status of invention?
