Although currently experimenting with a Gaidhlig version of the Scottish history bot, it was chance that I noticed that Wikidata for various locations which were originally loaded from HES/Canmore carry English labels that are Gaidhlig ("Lewis, Stac A' Chaisteil", "Cille Bharra", etc), but the Wikidata item lacks a Scottish Gaelic language label. Not only is this lacking precision, but in trying to retrieve query information in Gaidhlig (or in Gaidhlig with an explicit fallback to English), this seems inflexible for queries seeking information in Gaidhlig.
Outwith the Canmore cases, the Wikidata items for some mountains (Beinn Bheoil, Sròn a' Choire Ghairbh, etc.) were in a similar position.
I have updated what seems to be "safe" batches to copy across as explicit Scottish Gaelic labels on Wikidata. After the debacle of the Scots Wikipedia a few years ago, and all the more so with text consumption by LLM agents now rife, I am reluctant to do anything which may introduce neologisms to a language.
