Monuments

I celebrated the extra hour from the clock change by enhancing Wikidata for Scottish scheduled monuments which have a Wikipedia article but no linked image. I used a Petscan query based on the Scheduled monuments in Scotland category, along with the Wikishootme and View it tools which are a great help in finding Commons photos.

I then began looking further at the scheduled monuments which are on Wikidata but have no Wikipedia article or linked photo. There are over 6,000.

It is noticeable in both categories, that many have no nearby photos at all - possibly estates with landowner hostility to ramblers?

After finding so many with no nearby photos, I decided to focus on those where potential photos are available. I created a SPARQL query spanning Wikidata and Commons, starting from the scheduled monuments in a given council area, then querying for Commons images within 0.1km: link. By giving table lines of potential matches, this makes it easier to pick off matches quickly.
