I remembered a page I previously created on Commons, which provides a view of paintings in Scottish public galleries: link. It is based on a Wikidata SPARQL query, which ListeriaBot runs every few days to refresh the view.
(There are many more painting images on Commons, some of which now have structured data similar to Wikidata. It would be good to incorporate these.)
