From the 1750s until around 40 years ago, Scotland was marked by clusters of iron, steel and manufacturing heavy industries. Little remains. Attempting to map these using Wikidata and SPARQL shows something of this past, but with limitations.
A result of "recentism" in articles and data items is that significant erasures are, well, erased. No trace of the Linwood car plant, nothing of Dixon's Blazes or Parkhead Foundry, or of significant former collieries.
