The impending closure of botsin.space forces me to rethink what kind of service is appropriate for posting the daily Scottish Lost Places items.
These posts are the outcome of a program which queries Wikidata for thematic items about Scotland, currently visible at https://botsin.space/@scothistrail where it has 62 followers.
So I am thinking what kind of Mastodon instance is appropriate:
- One close to the Scottish topic of the delivered posts;
- One close to the Wiki source data;
- A more generalist instance.
After considering services relating to options 2 and 3 (and thanks to wikis.world for their prompt willing response), I decided option 1 sits best with Fediverse principles, and have begun parallel running at https://mastodon.scot/@scottishplaces before completing migration.
